Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a crucial step in enhancing the security of your accounts. 2FA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring users to provide two separate authentication factors before granting access to their accounts. This includes a password and something the user has (e.g., mobile device or authenticator app).

How to download an authenticator app and enable 2FA Authentication on Switch:

Step1. Download an Authenticator App

  • Choose an Authenticator App: Our recommended app include Google Authenticator, Authy, or LastPass Authenticator. These apps are available for both Android and iOS devices.
  • Go to App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your mobile device, open the respective app store.
  • Search for the Authenticator App by using search bar to find the chosen authenticator app.
  • Install the App by tapping on the app's icon, and then tap the "Install" or "Get" button to download and install the app.

Step2. Enable 2FA on Switch

  • Log into your Switch account using your username and password.

  • Navigate to your profile to access your profile settings.
  • Enable 2FA by selecting the option "Check to Activate" under Two Factor Authentication.

  • Scan the QR code by opening the authenticator app you downloaded earlier and scan the QR code displayed on the Switch screen. This will link your authenticator app to your Switch account.
  • Ender the verification code after scanning the QR code, the authenticator app will generate a one-time verification code. Enter this code into the field on the Switch page to confirm the setup and click "Save".

  • You have now successfully activated your 2FA.

Step3. Using 2FA on Switch

  • Every time you log in to your Switch account, you will be asked to provide a verification code from your authenticator app. Open the app and enter the current code to access your aacount.

By enabling 2FA on Switch, you will significantly enhance the security of your account. Making it much more challenging for unauthorised individuals to gain access.
